Development Team Our regional development team leads Mesoamerica Energy's business activities throughout the various stages of project development, and oversees the development work carried out in each country. Allan Broide - Development Manager: Prior to joining Mesoamerica Energy in 2004, Allan worked for over eight years in banking and electrical construction, and held positions as investment banking and corporate credit analyst at a merchant bank in Costa Rica. Allan has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Costa Rica and an MBA degree from New York University. He is an elected board member at the Costa Rican Private Generators Association since 2005.
| Leonel Umaña - Business Developer: Leonel has over 12 years of experience in the energy and environment sector, having worked for NGO's in the implementation of renewable energy projects in the Central American region. Leonel has been a consultant to the UNDP, BUN-CA, USAID and others, providing advice on project development, policy, financing and carbon credit mechanisms. Leonel holds a BA in business from the Universidad Interamericana and has an MBA degree from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, and has participated in many international symposia on energy and environmental policy.
| Hesler Acevedo: Prior to joining Mesoamerica Energy in 2006, Hesler built the solar and wind module of the Renewable Energy Park at San Carlos University in Guatemala, managing the park and working together with local NGO's for 2 years. Hesler holds a mechanical engineering degree from San Carlos University and took a specialized course in photovoltaic systems at Florida Atlantic University. He is in charge of Mesoamerica Energy's met towers and greenfield work.
| Damien Burger Hutchinson: Damien graduated in Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Management from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to Mesoamerica Energy he worked for Intel, Costa Rica. He also worked in Australia for an Automation and Precision engineering company. In 2000 he developed a prototype biogas pump for an NGO in India. He is in charge of wind data analysis and micrositing.
| Raúl Salguero: Prior to working with Mesoamerica Energy, Raúl coordinated a project in 19 universities in Central America and the Dominican Republic to strengthen applied research in subjects related with the prevention of natural disasters. He also worked as a field engineer in soil and subsoil geophysical prospection using electrical and seismic refraction methods. Raul holds a civil engineering degree from San Carlos de Guatemala University and a master's degree in Seismology from the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering -IISEE, Japan. He works with Mesoamerica Energy's met towers and greenfield program.
| Carlos Walker: Carlos joined Mesoamerica Energy in early 2007 after working for its parent company, Mesoamerica Investments, for nearly five years. He came to Central America in 1995 to work for the Arias Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Costa Rica, where he coordinated various international projects over the next six and a half years. He has an undergraduate degree in Latin American Studies from Oberlin College in the US, and is a specialist in information technology systems. He is in charge of Mesoamerica Energy's landowner relations.
