Our Regional Support Staff Maria Marta Castro - Office Manager: Before joining Mesoamerica Energy, María Marta was a senior consultant for Preselección Empresarial, Talent and Management Consulting Group and Centro Calidad. She is a specialist in organizational development and human capital management and has performed projects on a regional scale. She has collaborated on research and consulting initiatives in Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago and Panamá. Her most relevant projects include initiatives with the Costa Rican Pro National Children’s Hospital Association, Banco Nacional, Grupo Lovable, SM Jaleel, Tetra Pak and Accenture. María Marta graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Monterrey with a degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Organizational Management.
| Josué Molina - Chief Accountant: Josué is an Authorized Public Accountant and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of finance/accounting. He has a degree in Public Accounting from ULACIT, and is a member of the College of Public Accountants of Costa Rica. Before joining the Mesoamerica Energy team, he worked at the Latin-American University of Sciences and Technology, ULACIT, as the Financial Director. He also worked at Verizon Information Services in Costa Rica and Venezuela, where he contributed to business development through the implementation of automated accounting-administrative systems, finance and accounting design structures, the establishment of strategic plans and performance indicators, the strengthening of internal control, and the development of politics and procedures.
| Roberto Araya - Accountant: Roberto obtained his Public Accounting degree at the Latin American University of Costa Rica and has worked in the finance/accounting field for over twenty years. Before joining Mesoamerica Energy, he worked for Cañas and Sequeira, Formulaciones Químicas and SmithKline Beecham. His work involved accounting system implementation in the areas of internal control, fixed assets, forms, accounts payable and charges. He developed his graduate thesis in the financial crimes division of the Judicial Investigation Agency, consisting of an internal control procedures proposal to prevent financial crime in private sector organizations.
| | | Viviana Moreira - Administrative Assistant: Viviana is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Publicity and Public Relations, with a specific focus on strategic corporate advertising (for businesses seeking to improve their public image) and in marketing. She has worked as an administrative assistant at Mesoamerica Energy since 2006, providing technical support to both the project development department and administrative-logistics department.
| Alana Paul - Project Document Specialist: Alana recently graduated with a double Master of Arts degree in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from American University in Washington, D.C. and the United Nations mandated University for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica. Prior to joining Mesoamerica Energy in December 2007, Alana coordinated renewable energy and energy efficiency programs for a small NGO and at Tulane University, both in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has an undergraduate double degree in Environmental Policy and Anthropology from Tulane University, with a specialization in energy issues and climate change awareness.
