Cinética, Nicaragua

CINETICA is a Nicaraguan company that has been developing a wind project in the vicinity of Managua since 2004.  The company has compiled more than two years of wind data from multiple anemometer locations on the site and has secured all of the land necessary to build the project.  A preliminary feasibility study indicates that the site has an extraordinary wind resource and the land secured is sufficient for a project of at least 20MWs.

In April of 2006, Mesoamerica Energy acquired 100% of the shares of CINETICA as an entrance into the Nicaraguan market.  In addition to acquiring the assets of the development project, the company was able to contract the lead project developer of CINETICA in a move that added depth to Mesoamerica Energy’s project development team and gave it an on-the-ground presence in the Nicaragua.

Mesoamerica Energy has identified additional sites in Nicaragua that are considered strong candidates for growing the park to over 60 MW.  Mesoamerica Energy has begun securing the relevant land for the new sites and has been measuring at the new site since mid-2006.
